England were beaten 3-2 by world champions Spain in the Nations League, their first match since the World Cup. Lamine Yamal opened the scoring after Marc Guehi's uncharacteristic error gifted possession. Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane put England ahead before Kane missed a penalty.

Alex Baena equalised and Mikel Oyarzabal scored the winner. James Trafford made an early save but conceded quickly. Jarell Quansah had a strong right-back performance with a header chance.

Ezri Konsa improved after shaky starts. Nico O'Reilly assisted Kane's goal but gave the ball away for Spain's second. Elliot Anderson and Myles Lewis-Skelly struggled initially in midfield.

Jude Bellingham was dominant, assisting the equaliser and winning a penalty Kane hit off the bar. Bukayo Saka had quiet moments despite free-kick chances. Anthony Gordon scored a fine counter-attack goal.
