MLB Roster Strategy & Player Outlook

As teams prepare for future cycles, fantasy analysts are already identifying breakout candidates, with Jackson Chourio and Roman Anthony cited among the must-draft players for 2026 rosters, suggesting high long-term value projections outside the current top tier. This focus on future talent contrasts sharply with the immediate disappointments seen in international competition, where Team USA failed to secure the World Baseball Classic championship, lagging behind Venezuela's victory despite fielding one of the most star-laden offensive lineups assembled. Elsewhere, the front office landscape is shifting, as Moneyball pioneer Paul DePodesta embraces the unique challenge of managing the Colorado Rockies, aiming to overhaul operations specifically around the high-altitude environment of Coors Field.
