Arvid Lindblad delivered a stunning debut for Racing Bulls at the Australian Grand Prix, finishing eighth and scoring four points. The 18-year-old rookie navigated his first race in F1's 2026 machinery with composure, briefly reaching third place and battling champions Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, and Max Verstappen.

Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer praised Lindblad's maturity, confirming that engineers are already impressed with his work ethic and technical understanding. Bayer said Lindblad's performance validated former advisor Helmut Marko's high praise, comparing him to teammate Isack Hadjar. The team also benefited from unexpectedly strong Red Bull Ford Powertrains engine performance.

While teammate Liam Lawson suffered a poor start, Bayer called the weekend overall positive. He noted the team's success in getting three cars to the finish despite reliability concerns, including Hadjar's fiery retirement. Bayer expressed confidence that teams will optimize the new regulations after a few races, calling Melbourne's battery-dominated racing a promising start to F1's 2026 era.
