Fernando Alonso said he has no idea what he will do after his Formula 1 career ends, a statement that keeps fans guessing. The two‑time world champion indicated he will decide during the summer break, dismissing the notion that the Aston Martin upgrade at the Hungary Grand Prix will influence his choice. He also noted the 2023 Barcelona race would be his last at the circuit, hinting that the season may be his final one.

Alonso is open to staying in motorsport, either as a driver in endurance racing or in a non‑driving role at Aston Martin. He expressed a desire to win the Dakar Rally and has a history of success in the World Endurance Championship, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Daytona 24 Hours. The Spaniard said the experience he could bring to the team would be valuable after his 26‑year F1 career.

If Alonso retires, Aston Martin will face a vacancy beside Lance Stroll. Team boss Adrian Newey hopes the upgrade package will persuade Alonso to stay through 2027. Fans and analysts will watch the July decision closely, as it could reshape the team’s strategy and the championship’s competitive balance.

The driver also hinted at a future Doctors’ walk along the Camino de Santiago, but postponed it until his son grows older, keeping personal plans in the back‑seat.
