Apple will finally overhaul Siri with iOS 27, introducing a dedicated standalone application and a new "Ask Siri" button. This long-promised refresh, expected at WWDC in June, aims to close the gap left by delayed Apple Intelligence features, modernizing the assistant's core interaction model after years of stagnation.

Codename Campo, the new Siri app will mimic contemporary AI chatbots like ChatGPT. It displays conversation threads with chat bubbles and a text field, allowing users to revisit and continue past queries. A toggle switches between voice and text chat. This central hub is designed to leverage deeper personal data access—reading messages and emails—to provide contextual answers and complete in-app tasks.

Beyond the app, Siri will integrate more deeply into the iPhone experience. It will expand within Spotlight search, surface more proactive suggestions, and appear in the Dynamic Island with a new icon during processing. An "Ask Siri" button will also appear directly within third-party apps, automatically sharing relevant data to assist with queries.

This multi-front update represents Apple's most substantial attempt to make Siri competitive, shifting from a voice-only tool to a persistent, context-aware assistant accessible through multiple touchpoints across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
