The third round of developer betas for iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2, and macOS 27.2 has arrived for testing. Developers now have fresh builds of these updates to try out. Normally, you would expect the first updates to be for the 27.1 versions, but since the iOS 27.1 build is made with iPhone Duo elements in mind, that version is being skipped for the non-foldable iPhone models.
The third 27.2 builds are: iOS 27.2 beta 3 is 24B5099f, replacing 24B5089g; iPadOS 27.2 beta 3 is 24B5099f; macOS 27.2 beta 3 is 26B5101f; tvOS 27.2 beta 3 is 24K5103f; watchOS 27.2 beta 3 is 24S5101f; visionOS 27.2 beta 3 is 24N5103f; and HomePod Software 27.2 beta 3 is 24K5103f. The third round follows after the second, which appeared on September 21. The first round landed on September 16.
The first round introduced a redesigned Health app, FaceTime dual capture support, Siri AI localization for multiple languages, and Apple TV profiles. The second build had indications of a new Auto Lock security feature that locks down an iPhone if detected stolen. AppleInsider regularly warns readers that people trying out beta software should do so on secondary hardware instead of their daily driver devices. Members of the public should seek out the public betas instead of the developer versions.
