Hisense TopLift Dehumidifier Review: Matter-Enabled

Hisense has launched the TopLift, the first dehumidifier to support Matter, making it a seamless companion for Apple Home users seeking Siri control and automations. Previewed at CES 2026, the unit is now shipping and priced at $200 — notably less than the $300 non-smart model the reviewer previously owned.

The TopLift's standout physical feature is its top-lift 18-pint water reservoir with a retracting handle and built-in pump, eliminating the spills common with bottom-slide buckets. An included hose allows direct drainage to a raised sink. Rated for spaces up to 4,500 square feet, the reviewer tested it in a combined living-dining-kitchen area during a humid Ohio summer, where it filled the tank in roughly 18 hours at full speed.

Matter-over-Wi-Fi setup is quick: scan the pairing code and the device appears in Apple Home with automatic Wi-Fi credential transfer. Multi-admin support works across Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings simultaneously. However, Home app integration is bare-bones — only power and fan speed (in 10% increments) are exposed, with no water-level or real-time humidity readings. The reviewer compensates by pairing it with existing HomePod sensors for humidity-based automations, such as lowering fan speed at night or pausing when away.

Despite wishing for a larger reservoir and in-app water alerts, the reviewer calls the TopLift exceptional for its price, design, and connectivity, and hopes more Matter dehumidifiers follow.
