Japanese trading house stocks rallied on Thursday following remarks from Berkshire Hathaway CEO Greg Abel. The investment firm reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the sector and hinted at potential additional investments. Shares of Mitsubishi Corp. climbed 4.1% to their highest level since May, while Sumitomo Corp., Mitsui & Co Ltd, Itochu Corp, and Marubeni Corp all rose over 2%.

Berkshire currently holds a roughly 10% stake in each of the major trading houses. The positive sentiment lifted the Topix benchmark, with the sector viewed as a key beneficiary of foreign capital inflows into Japan's established conglomerates.
