The Grace Hopper Celebration in Anaheim, CA, has been cancelled due to insufficient funds. Both individual registrations and sponsorship commitments fell significantly below expectations, failing to cover critical operating expenses. The organizers express deep regret for the disruption this causes to attendees who have made travel arrangements, booked hotels, secured visas, and planned time away from work.
Affected individuals are urged to cancel travel and hotel reservations directly with providers. Information regarding registration fees, sponsorships, and exhibitor commitments will be communicated directly to those involved. Anita B.org will contact registrants about fees by October 26.
For questions, contact [GHC@Anita B.org]. The organization acknowledges the event’s importance to the community of women technologists and is evaluating strategic alternatives for future programming. Further announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
