OpenAI and AWS have widened their partnership, rolling out a limited‑preview suite that puts the company’s newest models, the Codex coding engine, and Bedrock Managed Agents directly inside Amazon’s cloud. Developers can now call GPT‑5.5 and other frontier models through Amazon Bedrock, keeping data inside the same security, compliance, and identity frameworks their workloads already trust across global regions.

More than four million weekly users rely on Codex for everything from generating boilerplate code to drafting slide decks, and the preview lets enterprises attach the service to their Bedrock contracts for unified billing and high‑availability guarantees. Configuring Codex via the Bedrock API works with the CLI, a desktop client, and a VS Code extension, giving teams a familiar development surface for internal teams.

Bedrock Managed Agents add a layer for building multi‑step, tool‑enabled workflows that can maintain context and act on business processes without developers wiring up infrastructure themselves. By leveraging AWS’s existing governance and compliance controls, organizations can push prototypes to production faster while keeping audit trails intact. The joint offering gives enterprises a single path from experiment to enterprise‑grade AI deployment in production pipelines.
