The author discovered a powerful use for the Apple Vision Pro: designing a new home. Faced with the daunting task of making irreversible decisions for their new house, the author found that traditional 2D floor plans lacked a sense of scale and spatial awareness.

The solution involved using Fusion 360, a 3D modeling software, to build a virtual representation of the floor plan. This allowed for the visualization of walls, rooms, and hallways, providing a much better understanding of the space. The process was further enhanced by adding textures and importing 3D models of furniture, sourced from IKEA and 3D Warehouse, to achieve realistic scale and spatial context.

This immersive experience, viewed through the Vision Pro, helped in making informed decisions about the home's layout and design. The author even developed a custom application called Prospector to enhance the VR experience with controller support for navigation, transforming the abstract floor plans into a tangible virtual environment.
