Transistor Animations with Semiconductor Simulator

Hi HN, I made some animations of the most important kinds of transistors using my semiconductor simulation. I tried to make the visuals as realistic as possible while also aiming for clarity. If you want to go beyond the charge carriers and look at, for example, the electric field, you can do so in the simulation software. The desktop software also has less common devices like IGBTs and SCRs that have similar animations.

In the first set of animations, the velocity of charge carriers equals the combined diffusion and drift currents divided by total charge, with diffusion not shown. The second set includes both diffusion and drift, which is more accurate but visually confusing. The final set shows currents and voltages at each terminal with probes.

The animations cover NPN BJT, n-ch MOSFET, and n-ch JFET devices. Blue and red dots represent electrons and holes respectively, while white flashes indicate recombination events. The simulation depicts charge carrier motion where carrier velocity is calculated from combined diffusion and drift currents divided by total charge concentration.
