Stenchill: 3D-Printable Solder Paste Stencil Generator

Stenchill Beta lets you upload a Gerber ZIP file and instantly receive a 3D‑printable STL file for a PCB stencil. The workflow is simple: upload, preview the stencil in 3‑D and adjust settings, download and print with a standard 3‑D printer.

The idea was born on a stream by Barbatronic, a French maker and robotics creator who streams on Twitch and runs a Discord community. In the video, Barbatronic shows how Stenchill fits into his fabrication workflow and shares first impressions.

A stencil is a thin plate that matches the solder pads on a board. 3‑D‑printed stencils are ideal for 0603+ passive parts and large‑pitch ICs; finer parts (0402, BGA) still benefit from laser‑cut stencils. Using a 0.2 mm nozzle and a 0.1 mm layer height gives the best paste deposits. Stencil thickness of 0.3‑0.4 mm and 100 % infill keep the part rigid.

Professional stencils cost $15‑30 per side, but with Stenchill you generate a file for free, print it the same day, and get built‑in registration shoulders for perfect alignment.
