After 15 years of planning, the maintainer of a popular terminal themes repository has finally built a web app for it. The next-generation version is now live at terminalthemes.com, offering over 800 themes and downloads in close to 40 formats, including iTerm, Ghostty and Windows.
The app is free to use. Browsing and downloading require no account, but registering for a free account lets users vote, bookmark and submit themes. The creator focused on accessibility features for those who need them, and added a Find My Theme tool to help users locate a theme they like.
Live terminal and code previews offer a more realistic view of how a theme looks, compared with the ANSI screenshots used in the GitHub repository. Those screenshots remain available for users who prefer them.
The creator is seeking feedback and feature suggestions, and thanked the community of contributors who have submitted themes, ported them to other terminals and built format conversion tools over the years. Contributors to the GitHub repository are encouraged to register, find their themes and use the Claim Authorship button.
