Poland’s GDP reached €922.9 billion in 2025, representing 4.9 percent of the EU’s economy, making it the sixth‑largest member state after Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

The country’s growth stems from sustained industrial expansion, higher exports, and increased consumption and investment. In 2025 Poland’s real GDP rose by 3.6 percent, surpassing the EU average growth of 1.5 percent.

Compared to Central and Eastern European rivals, Poland outpaces Romania (€380.1 billion), the Czech Republic (€347.3 billion) and Hungary (€218.8 billion). The combined EU GDP is about €18.8 trillion, with Germany holding 23.8 bandera, France 15.9 and Italy 12.

Despite its size, Poland’s GDP resp. capita remains below the EU average, with per‑capita output less than 85 percent of the EU average, underscoring that a large economy does not automatically equate to high living standards.
