nLab has launched a pocket-sized electronics lab that replaces $1,000+ worth of professional equipment with a single 3-in-1 device. The kit includes an oscilloscope, function generator, and power supply alongside 200+ components for building real circuits. Created by Northwestern Robotics Professor Nick and Robotics Engineer Angie, this portable lab aims to make electronics accessible without requiring expensive equipment or a math genius brain.

The kit features 12 guided projects including a heartbeat monitor, custom video game, and climate sensor. Users gain hands-on experience measuring biological signals, creating hardware-software interfaces, and collecting environmental data. The connected app provides real-time feedback as users build and test their creations. Each project includes free YouTube tutorials taught by the founders.

Currently on Kickstarter for $169 (regular price $199), nLab has already been used by 10,000 university students at institutions including Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, and Johns Hopkins. The first 500 reservations secure the launch pricing. The founders developed nLab because they loved electronics but hated the frustrating and expensive learning process.
