OpenRA released playtest-20260222 featuring random map generators for Red Alert, Tiberian Dawn, and Dune 2000. Players can now select biomes, player counts, and symmetry settings to generate playable maps for both skirmish and multiplayer modes. The system produces quality maps automatically, expanding replayability across all supported titles.

Dune 2000 received substantial visual upgrades including new effects for Sonic Tanks and damaged structures, plus long-awaited bulk purchase logic for the Starport. The community-led balance overhaul affects skirmish and multiplayer modes, while single-player campaigns get adjusted difficulties to smooth the learning curve.

The Tiberian Dawn HD mod reached feature completion with HD sprites and a content manager letting players toggle between remastered and classic artwork, audio, and music. Integration work continues toward merging these features into the core Tiberian Dawn experience in the next release.

Map makers gain new tools including the Path Tiler for placing terrain features, plus UI improvements to the map editor. Additional changes include auto-save settings, expansion base building for bots, and new missions for Red Alert and Tiberium Dawn. The update reinforces OpenRA's position as the definitive open-source RTS platform.
