A new online SNMP MIB database and viewer has been launched, allowing users to search, upload, browse, and download from a collection of over 11,000 SNMP MIBs. The tool, accessible via a web browser, enables users to look up MIB objects by name, OID, or number, view their syntax, access level, and description, trace their position in the MIB tree, and generate SNMP commands.

A MIB (Management Information Base) is a structured document defining the data a device exposes over SNMP, such as interface counters or system uptime. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is the protocol used by network devices to report status and statistics to monitoring tools, with MIBs serving as the vocabulary. An OID (Object Identifier) is the numeric address of a specific piece of data within a MIB, represented as a dotted sequence like 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.

Users can search for MIBs or OIDs directly, or explore a provided list. The platform also allows users to upload their own MIB files for immediate parsing and exploration. These uploaded MIBs are kept private to the current browser session and are not added to the shared library.
