Paris-based startup Nao Labs has posted a job opening for a founding software engineer. The Y Combinator X25 alum is building an open-source AI agent designed specifically for data analytics. With a team of two cofounders, the company is expanding its engineering bench to accelerate development of its core product, a specialized AI IDE for data professionals.

The founders bring deep industry experience. CEO Claire Gouze was a data scientist at BCG Gamma, while CTO Christophe Blefari is a former staff data engineer at FreeNow. They have already attracted over 100 data teams to their initial product and are now focused on rolling out the new agent. The role requires someone to own the full stack and shape the product roadmap.

This hire will join a small, on-site team in Paris to build agentic workflows and intuitive UIs. The position offers a competitive salary and early equity, targeting an entrepreneurial engineer ready to ship fast. Nao Labs is betting that data work needs a distinct workflow from traditional software development, a growing sentiment in the AI tooling space.
