Founders developed Modulus after encountering firsthand frustrations with cross-repo workflows. Their custom-built Memory and Context Engine allows agents to maintain context when switching between tasks, solving problems that plague existing tools like Conductor specifically for multi-repository development environments.

The platform uses git worktrees to provide isolated workspaces for each agent while maintaining shared understanding of the entire system. Modulus soon plans to introduce team collaboration features and an API for seamless context preservation across different IDEs, addressing a growing need in AI-assisted development.
