JSLinux has expanded its capabilities by adding x86_64 architecture support to its browser-based emulation platform. The open-source project, created by Fabrice Bellard, now allows developers and enthusiasts to run modern 64-bit operating systems directly in web browsers without requiring any additional software installations.

This enhancement significantly broadens the range of compatible systems that can be emulated through JSLinux. Previously limited to 32-bit x86 architectures, the platform can now handle more demanding applications and newer operating systems that require 64-bit processing capabilities. The update leverages WebAssembly and modern browser APIs to deliver near-native performance for emulated environments.

The addition of x86_64 support positions JSLinux as a more versatile tool for testing, development, and educational purposes. Users can now experiment with contemporary Linux distributions and other 64-bit operating systems entirely within their browser. This makes it particularly useful for developers who need to test cross-platform compatibility or for students learning about different operating system architectures without access to physical hardware.
