U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a request for information seeking commercial Big Data and Ad Tech tools to support its investigations. The agency cited increasing volumes of data from internal and external sources, framing the inquiry as a survey of products comparable to large investigative analytics providers.

This marks the first time ICE has explicitly mentioned ad tech in a federal registry filing. The move highlights how commercial technologies originally built for digital advertising and location data services are now being evaluated for government surveillance and law enforcement, despite regulatory and privacy constraints.

ICE has previously used Palantir Gotham for its Investigative Case Management system and purchased mobile location data from tools like Webloc by Penlink. The agency stated the RFI is for planning purposes only, aiming to balance technological innovation with civil liberties and privacy interests.
