Hyperspace is a Mac utility that finds files with identical contents within one or more folders and reclaims disk space by converting duplicates into space-saving clones. This process uses standard macOS file system features, similar to how Finder duplicates files. The app follows three steps: Scan, Review, and Reclaim.

In the Scan phase, users select folders to examine for duplicate files. Hyperspace searches through all subfolders and identifies files meeting its criteria. After scanning, eligible files for reclamation are displayed along with potential disk space savings.

During Review, users can see all identical file groups and optionally choose which files to convert to clones. Each group has a designated source file that remains unchanged while target files become clones. Users can preview files, exclude specific files from reclamation, or change the source file designation.

The final Reclaim step replaces selected duplicate files with space-saving clones, freeing up disk space. Hyperspace reports any errors encountered and provides cleanup instructions for stranded files. The app tracks lifetime space savings and requires purchase for full functionality beyond scanning.
