Raycast has launched Glaze, an AI-powered desktop app builder currently in private beta. The tool lets users create Mac applications through natural language descriptions, with existing Raycast users receiving priority access. Early access will also be granted to attendees of upcoming in-person events.

Unlike browser-based app builders, Glaze creates native desktop applications with full system access. Users can build internal tools, utilities, workflow automations, and menu bar apps that integrate with the file system, camera, keyboard shortcuts, and background processes. The platform supports API connections, local file access, and AI model integration.

Glaze offers a free tier with daily credits and a public app store, while paid plans start at $20/month with expanded monthly credits. Team plans include private stores for sharing apps internally. The service launches first on Mac, with Windows and Linux support planned for the future.
