Berlin-based Langdock has moved its parent company from the US to Germany, reversing the usual path for European start-ups. The company reorganized into a Societas Europaea (SE) registered in Germany, replacing its US holding structure. The process began in early 2026 and cost several million euros.

Founded in Berlin in 2023, Langdock serves about 13,000 organizations with an enterprise AI platform. It initially created a US parent to attract investors and benefit from Y Combinator, but operations and customer data remained in Germany. The US parent had no employees, infrastructure, or access to production systems.

Removing the US parent clarifies Langdock's European structure, especially amid concerns over US laws like the Cloud Act. About 80% of Langdock is owned by founders and employees in the EU. Annual subscription revenue reached a $50 million run rate in August, up from $1 million in October 2024.

Langdock aims to build a sovereign, full-stack AI platform. It plans three new services and a German data center. Its move tests whether European regulation can be a competitive advantage for AI companies.
