Flowise Shutting Down: Timeline and Implications

Hacker News •

Hey everyone, When we started Flowise, we wanted to make building AI apps easier and more fun for everyone. Seeing what you've built, from simple bots to massive workflows has truly been the best part of this journey. Over the last few months, we've noticed a significant shift in how people build. As AI models become more capable at reasoning, developers are increasingly relying on new coding agents like Claude Code/Open Claw to handle complex tasks. The rigid low-code workflow approach quickly hits limits with complexity. With these shifts in mind, we've decided to wind down Flowise operations.

This gives you time to fork the code and plan next steps. Key milestones: July 29, 2026 marks code freeze; August 10, 2026 moves the GitHub repo to Public Archive; August 31, 2026 ends official core team support. Post-shutdown, the Apache 2.0 licensed code remains on GitHub for forking. Community moderation will continue where applicable.

We're grateful for your support over the years. Flowise source code will remain accessible, and we encourage teams to fork the repo (https://github.com/flowiseai/flowise) for ongoing development.

Thank you for building with us—here's to what's next! Henry & Flowise Team
