Federal authorities have arrested 21-year-old Zyaire Wilkins in Florida, accusing him and co-conspirators of stealing at least $220,000 in cryptocurrency. The alleged scheme involved releasing eight malware-infected games, likely on the Steam platform, between May 2024 and February 2026. These games reportedly infected approximately 8,000 devices, granting access to 80 crypto wallets.

The FBI had previously sought information on a "Steam malware investigation" that included games like Block Blasters, Chemia, and others listed in the complaint. Some of these games, including Blockblasters which allegedly defrauded victims of over $150,000, were reportedly removed by Steam last year.

Authorities allege Wilkins and his collaborators marketed these games on social media and messaging platforms, encouraging downloads. The malware then harvested victims' private information to drain their crypto wallets. Wilkins was linked to the operation through his crypto wallet address, which was traced to a gift card purchasing account. This led investigators to his phone number and eventually his address. Wilkins was arrested on July 14th and charged with conspiracy to obtain information for financial gain.
