Finding My Inner Voice After 14 Years

It’s been over fourteen years since the last time I wrote a post on this blog. In those years, the world has changed, and so have I. One of the subtle changes that quietly crept into my life was filling the silence. As responsibilities piled up, my immediate instinct was to fill every quiet moment with podcasts, audiobooks, or social media.

I am a slow thinker. Once my thoughts pick up momentum, I can spend fifteen or thirty minutes exploring an idea. In my day job, my routine became a loop of focus and meetings, leaving me with zero time to actually hear myself. I realized I had been drowning out my own voice.

Recently, I decided to do a chore in silence instead of reaching for the play button. At first, it felt uncomfortable, but then my thoughts started to flow. It felt much better than drowning them out. If you have lost your inner voice, give yourself a shot. Just sit in silence for a moment and see what happens.
