French DJ Kavinsky, known for his hit song 'Nightcall', was found dead at his Paris home on Tuesday evening. The 50-year-old artist, whose real name was Vincent Belorgey, was a prominent figure in the 'French touch' house music scene, alongside artists like Daft Punk and Justice.

An investigation into the cause of death has been opened by the Paris prosecutor's office. French Culture Minister Catherine Pégard described Kavinsky as "one of France's most distinctive voices," whose music will continue to resonate across generations.

'Nightcall', a synthwave track featured on the soundtrack of the 2011 film *Drive*, gained renewed popularity during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Kavinsky, a self-taught pianist, began his career in the early 2000s and had previously opened for Daft Punk. He would have celebrated his 51st birthday on July 31st.
