Cloudflare has launched a new Billable Usage API for self-serve accounts, providing programmatic cost visibility. This API offers a single endpoint to retrieve account usage and cost, broken down by product and service period, covering all usage-based Cloudflare products like Workers, R2, D1, Workers AI, Vectorize, Images, and Stream.

The API returns data in a format familiar to Fin Ops tools, aligning with the FOCUS specification. Each response row details usage and cost for a specific product within a charge period, including quantities, units, and contracted costs. This enables automated consumption and integration with existing cost management workflows.

Cloudflare has partnered with Vantage, an infrastructure cost management platform, to integrate this billable usage data. This allows customers to view Cloudflare spend alongside costs from over 30 other providers in a unified dashboard, facilitating cross-provider allocation, anomaly detection, and AI-driven cost analysis. The API aims to empower developers and finance teams with real-time cost insights, simplifying budgeting and attribution.
