Amazon Web Services confirmed drones damaged three of its facilities in the UAE and Bahrain following recent US and Israeli strikes against Iran. The incidents occurred on Sunday, with initial reports describing sparks and fire at a UAE data center and power issues in Bahrain. AWS later clarified that drone strikes caused the outages, stating two UAE facilities were directly hit while Bahrain suffered impacts from a nearby strike.

The attacks caused structural damage, disrupted power, and required fire suppression, leading to water damage. AWS is working to restore services but warns recovery could take time due to the physical damage. The company also advised customers to back up data and potentially migrate workloads to unaffected AWS regions outside the Middle East.

The ongoing conflict in the region is described as unpredictable, with President Trump indicating potential US strikes could extend for weeks or longer.
