Accenture has agreed to buy Ookla for 1.2 B in cash, adding the company’s Speedtest brand to its network‑intelligence portfolio. The deal positions Accenture to offer enterprises real‑time network performance data that feeds AI models and fraud‑prevention systems across finance, utilities, and retail in 2026 globally.

Ookla, founded in 2006, gathers more than 1,000 attributes per test from 250 million monthly consumer‑initiated probes and controlled drive‑tests. Its data feeds Speedtest, Downdetector and Ekahau, giving CSPs and hyperscalers AI‑driven insights for capital planning, edge‑data‑center resilience and private 5G troubleshooting for telecom operators worldwide.

Julie Sweet, Accenture chair, said the acquisition fills a gap in the firm’s AI stack by anchoring it in trusted connectivity data. Manish Sharma highlighted that Speedtest and Downdetector will accelerate low‑latency, zero‑friction experiences for agents and enterprises. The integration signals a push toward data‑centric network design across global enterprises for customers.

The deal, subject to regulatory approval, does not disclose terms but signals Accenture’s ambition to monetize network data at scale. With 430 experts and a global footprint, Ookla’s engineering and RF teams will merge with Accenture’s Reinvention Services to deliver end‑to‑end solutions for digital workplaces, autonomous networks and AI workloads. This partnership aims to redefine how connectivity is measured and leveraged for enterprise performance.
