Two studies demonstrated measurable improvements. In a JAMA Dermatology paper with 2,345 participants, the AI tool achieved 23% condition naming accuracy versus 8% for standard web searches. A complementary field study with 110 users from diverse backgrounds showed 260% improvement in naming their own skin conditions when using the AI system.

The research revealed both promise and limitations. While AI assistance significantly boosted users' confidence and search satisfaction, determining appropriate next steps remained challenging.
