Lisbon-based AI agent risk startup Humanos has raised $3.2m in seed funding led by Anthemis. The funding will support the development of insurance solutions tailored for AI agents, addressing emerging risks as autonomous systems become more prevalent in business operations. Humanos aims to provide coverage for errors, liabilities, and unintended behaviors exhibited by AI agents in real-world deployments.

The company is positioning itself at the forefront of a new insurance niche driven by the rapid adoption of generative and agentic AI technologies. Investors see strong potential in mitigating systemic risks associated with AI autonomy, especially in sectors like finance, healthcare, and logistics. The round includes participation from several European venture funds focused on deep tech and insurtech innovation.

Humanos plans to use the capital to expand its team, refine risk modeling algorithms, and launch pilot products with early enterprise customers. The startup’s founders bring expertise in AI safety, actuarial science, and regulatory compliance. This move reflects growing investor interest in infrastructure that enables responsible AI scaling.
