Prolific acquirer Bending Spoons has agreed to buy Amsterdam- and US-based visual workflow collaboration platform Miro in a $1.36bn cash deal. The acquisition marks one of the largest exits for a European-founded SaaS company in recent years. Miro, founded in 2011, has grown into a leading online whiteboard and collaboration tool used by millions globally. The deal values Miro at $1.36bn, reflecting strong investor confidence despite earlier market headwinds. Bending Spoons, known for acquiring and scaling tech companies such as Evernote and Meetup, plans to integrate Miro into its portfolio while maintaining its core product offerings. Miro’s leadership team, including co-founders Andrey Khusid and Oleg Shchegolev, will continue to run the company under the new ownership structure. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to regulatory approvals. This acquisition underscores ongoing consolidation in the productivity and collaboration software space, driven by demand for hybrid work solutions.

Bending Spoons CEO Francesco Patrascio emphasized the strategic fit of Miro within the company’s long-term vision. "We are excited to welcome Miro to our family," Patrascio said. "Miro’s platform aligns perfectly with our mission to build world-class digital experiences."

The deal also highlights renewed optimism in late-stage tech valuations following a challenging period for venture-backed startups. Miro had previously raised over $400m from investors including ICONIQ Capital, Accel, and Salesforce Ventures.
