Apple today released iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 for iPhone and iPad. The free updates are available over the air via Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 27 runs on all iPhones that support iOS 26, including iPhone SE 2 and iPhone 11 series and later. iPadOS 27 is available on 2nd-generation and later iPad Pro, 4th-generation and later iPad Air, 6th-generation and later iPad mini, and the A16 iPad.

The updates introduce Siri AI, a smarter, more capable Siri. You may need to sign up in Settings under the Siri section. There's also a dedicated Siri app, updates to the Liquid Glass design, and new Apple Intelligence features.

To use the new AI features, you need an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, including iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, all iPhone 16 models, all iPhone 17 models, and all iPhone 18 models. For iPad, Apple Intelligence is available on M-series devices and the A17 Pro iPad mini. There are no fees for Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features yet, but Apple may start charging for higher usage in the future.
