Apple's upcoming foldable "iPhone Ultra" will likely support MagSafe charging, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Despite early dummy models lacking a MagSafe ring, leaked cases suggest compatibility. Gurman stated that since Apple successfully integrated MagSafe into the iPhone Air, there is no reason it cannot be included in the foldable device. The thinner profile of the iPhone Ultra, measuring 4.5mm when open, previously raised doubts about MagSafe inclusion due to space constraints. However, the removal of Face ID camera hardware and the rumored use of Touch ID likely created the necessary internal space.

Gurman also detailed other key specifications for the device, including a $2,000+ price tag, a 5.5-inch outer display, and a 7.8-inch inner display. The design is described as short and wide with a passport-style format. Under the hood, the phone will feature Apple's latest modem (likely the C2) and A20 Pro chip. The camera system will include Wide and Ultra Wide lenses but omit a telephoto lens. A durable hinge with minimal creasing and software that automatically resizes apps for different displays were also highlighted. Apple is expected to announce the foldable iPhone alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models at the "Surprise and Shine" event on September 9.
