New Apple CEO John Ternus has emailed all staff worldwide as he begins his tenure, thanking them for making the company what it is today and offering a first hint at his plans for the future.

Following Tim Cook's farewell email to staff, Ternus praised his predecessor's leadership and expressed gratitude that Cook will remain with Apple as executive chairman. "We're so lucky to have had a CEO who led with his values and with such decency and humanity," Ternus wrote.

Ternus noted a "huge launch next week" and expressed excitement about products already in development as well as those yet to be imagined. He was announced as Cook's successor in April 2026. His early visible moves have included laying off Apple Vision Pro staff.
