Former CIA Director David Petraeus was at a rail station near the Poland-Ukraine border when a Russian drone struck a train station on Sunday. He and other European officials were evacuating after attending a security conference in Kyiv. Video shows the moment of the explosion.

Another train carrying former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European dignitaries had departed minutes earlier. Officials believe the drone targeted that train, which was part of a diplomatic convoy. Petraeus described the attack as terrifying for those unaccustomed to fire.

He stated the strike represents a Russian attempt to terrorize civilians and disrupt logistics. The Ukrainian railway confirmed the attack occurred at Yahodyn station. Russia has escalated attacks on railway infrastructure this month.

Zelenskyy said the goal is to cripple the economy. Petraeus reboarded his train and traveled safely into Poland, stating Ukraine remains unbreakable despite the violence.
