JJ Spaun captured his first European Tour title outside the US at the BMW PGA Championship, overcoming a heartbreaking finish for Manuel Elvira. Spaun, who carded a five-under 67 on Sunday, secured the win at 15 under par.

The victory marks Spaun as only the third American to win the prestigious event at Wentworth, joining a list that includes Billy Horschel and Arnold Palmer. Despite the disappointment, Elvira finished alongside major champions Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, and Aaron Rai. Spaun revealed his motivation stemmed from being omitted from the US Presidents Cup, stating he played with a "huge chip on my shoulder." His caddie and brother Ignacio consoled Elvira as he walked off the 18th green.
