The Women's Super League has launched an investigation into Crystal Palace after they allegedly breached substitution rules during their 1-0 victory over Everton at the Borough Sports Ground. According to league statements, Palace used four separate substitution windows in the 62nd, 83rd, 90th, and 97th minutes, exceeding the maximum of three permitted per match. The league confirmed the probe will involve both clubs and the referee body Pro Ref.

While WSL rules do not prescribe automatic punishment, any breach could be referred to an independent tribunal, which has the power to impose sanctions ranging from warnings or fines to points deductions. Both clubs have been approached for comment regarding the ongoing inquiry.
