England stars Alessia Russo and Alex Greenwood are among the 30 nominees for the women's Ballon d'Or, making them the only Lionesses on the list. Barcelona's Aitana Bonmati, winner of the past three awards, is absent after missing much of the season with a broken leg.

Russo, who finished third last year, scored 24 goals in 40 appearances for Arsenal. Greenwood captained Manchester City to the Women's Super League and FA Cup double. City teammate Khadija Shaw also earned a nomination after netting 21 goals in 22 league games.

Two-time winner Alexia Putellas is a favorite after helping Barcelona win the Champions League. Scotland's Caroline Weir, who moved from Real Madrid to Lyon in June, also made the list with 20 goals.

The award celebrates its 70th anniversary, created by France Football in 1956. The winner will be announced in London on October 26, a tribute to Sir Stanley Matthews, the first male recipient.
