Legal action against Fifa has been expanded to include allegations of "abusive conduct" towards the women's game. European Leagues and Fifpro originally filed a complaint with the European Commission in October 2024 to protect men's players, alleging Fifa abused a dominant position by ignoring leagues and unions over the new men's international calendar. The scope has now been broadened to address Fifa's regulatory power over the women's international match calendar.

European Leagues warns that Fifa's conduct threatens the growth and financial sustainability of women's professional leagues and risks player health. The submission details a conflict of interest, as Fifa acts as both governing body and competition organiser. The organization welcomed 14 women's divisions into its ranks in June, including the Women's Super League and Scottish Women's Premier League, alongside the Premier League, English Football League, and top European leagues.

Fifa has been approached for comment regarding the expanded allegations.
