Paralympics Productions, the modding group that got GTA 5 running natively on the original Nintendo Switch, is shutting down on October 3. Project lead M0jso announced on X that Take-Two Interactive sent him a cease-and-desist letter, after which he had no choice but to shut down his projects. The Android port he was working on is canceled as well, and nobody will take over.

The source code won't be released, as that could bring more legal trouble. M0jso thinks Take-Two has solid grounds and that he probably wouldn't win in court. Both ports relied on GTA 5 source code that leaked in 2023.

The timing lines up with Rockstar's move to tighten its mod guidelines this month, telling fans not to modify Rockstar games to run on consoles or other platforms where the company hasn't officially released them. M0jso also took a jab at Rockstar over those rules about a week before the shutdown. For now, Android users are back to Winlator-style compatibility tools or streaming.
