LG Display announced the launch of its 24.5-inch 720 Hz Gaming OLED panel, the first OLED display tailored specifically for esports. The panel achieves the world's highest refresh rate among gaming OLEDs at 720 Hz and a response time of 0.02 ms, dramatically reducing motion blur and ghosting for fast-paced genres like FPS and racing games. LG Display developed a proprietary stable driving algorithm to maintain the ultra-high refresh rate at FHD (1920x1080) resolution.

The technology has been adopted by ASUS for its ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace monitor, selected as the official esports monitor for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026. Hyeon-woo Lee, Head of the Large Display Business Unit at LG Display, stated the company will lead the transition to OLED in the gaming monitor market. LG Display plans to accelerate its esports strategy with a full lineup from 20-inch to 40-inch classes, including products with Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) technology, while advancing AI transformation (AX) across gaming display development.
