Nostalgia continues to drive the gaming industry, with Konami leading the charge in franchise revivals. During a recent interview with Nikkei Gaming, Konami President Hideki Hayakawa confirmed the company is rebooting several beloved IPs. Alongside Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Momotaro Dentetsu, Castlevania—known in Japan as Akumajou Dracula—is actively in development.

Hayakawa stated the company's basic philosophy is to release games across multiple devices as long as customers exist, moving away from focusing on a single IP to pushing multiple projects forward simultaneously. While Hayakawa declined to specify which Castlevania title will be rebooted, enthusiasm is high following the announcement of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse. The recent resurgence of the Metroidvania genre, named in part for Castlevania, signals the timing is ideal for a return.

With over 50 years of game development history and globally loved IPs, Konami is leveraging fan demand to revitalize classic properties for modern audiences.
