AOC has listed in China the AGON AGP277KXM 27-inch Mini LED gaming monitor sporting a Fast IPS dual-mode panel that can run 5K or QHD. At the 5120 x 2880 (5K) native resolution, it runs at 180 Hz and features 218 PPI, sharp enough that individual pixels are not visible at normal viewing distances. When switching to 2560 x 1440 (QHD) mode, the monitor refresh rate jumps to 360 Hz. AGON AGP277KXM sports Mini LED backlight with 2304 local dimming zones, quantum dot technology, 1600 nits peak brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification. It offers 1500:1 static contrast, 0.5 ms GtG response time, with color coverage of 98% DCI-P3 and 98% Adobe RGB. The monitor provides one DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1, USB-C with DP Alt Mode and 65 W PD, three USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB Uplink and a 3.5 mm jack. It supports KVM, PiP, and PbP, and the stand covers the full range of adjustments. As a dedicated gaming monitor, it includes light FX rear lighting and a retractable headphone holder. While the new AOC monitor does not support NVIDIA G-SYNC Pulsar, it joins a handful of other fast displays with G-SYNC Pulsar support, such as the AOC AG276QSG2, Acer Predator XB273U F5, ASUS ROG Strix Pulsar XG27AQNGV, and MSI MPG 272QRF X36 in a trend towards higher and higher resolution and refresh rates. G-SYNC Pulsar synchronizes backlight pulsing with variable refresh rates, NVIDIA says this can enhance motion clarity without forcing panels into higher refresh rates. No pricing or global availability yet.

The AGON AGP277KXM represents a significant advancement in gaming display technology with its dual-mode Fast IPS panel offering unprecedented resolution and refresh rate combinations. The 2304 local dimming zones and quantum dot technology ensure exceptional color accuracy and brightness levels that meet VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification standards.

Connectivity options are comprehensive with modern DisplayPort 2.1 and dual HDMI 2.1 ports, ensuring compatibility with next-generation graphics cards and consoles. The inclusion of USB-C with 65W power delivery adds versatility for laptop docking scenarios, while the full suite of USB ports provides extensive peripheral support.
