Jack Mc Glynn orchestrated Stoke's first away win since January with a 2-1 victory at Watford. A 1-1 draw at Cardiff midweek ended nine consecutive away defeats, and Stoke secured their first win in 11 road trips and third in four Championship games. Mc Glynn opened scoring at halftime before Eric Bocat doubled the lead.

Amin Nabizada's late reply proved insufficient. Fortified by 10 summer signings, including US international Mc Glynn from Houston Dynamo and £10million former Manchester United academy midfielder Ethan Galbraith from Swansea, Stoke dominated early. Bocat missed a 10-yard chance and Lamine Cisse headed wide in the first eight minutes.

Galbraith tested keeper Federico Ravaglia with a low save as Watford struggled to press. Othmane Maamma's speculative volley went wide after 35 minutes. Maksym Talovierov cleared Mamadou Doumbia's effort before halftime.

Lamine Cisse's goal was disallowed for offside. Mc Glynn struck in added time with a high shot from the edge of the box. Livewire Mc Glynn applied pressure with set-pieces and partnered well with Galbraith.

Justin Devenny missed a chance from Ben Johnson's cross. Bocat scored again 12 minutes into the second half. Watford's depleted bench, including two goalkeepers and no midfielders, limited options.

Michail Antonio's substitute appearance was window dressing. Nabizada's curling 25-yard goal reduced the deficit at 90 minutes before Stoke held on for six stoppage minutes.
