Team Europe captain Anna Nordqvist said the Solheim Cup first tee would be 'the place to be in the golfing world,' and she was spot on. Nearly 3,000 spectators filled the horseshoe grandstand at Bernardus Golf before daylight, creating a party-like atmosphere.

United States captain Angela Stanford danced onto the tee, while Charley Hull compared the walk to 'entering an arena.' Vice-captains from both sides amplified the noise. A sign read 'Dutch courage, European glory,' and Nordqvist's vice-captain Anne van Dam led the crowd in 'Links Rechts.'

'It doesn't get better than this,' Nordqvist said. 'I don't think I've ever seen this many Europeans on the first tee.'

Fans in banana costumes and stars-and-stripes suits jumped at 7.20am. Chants of 'Let's go Europe' rang out before 'The Final Countdown' played. Team USA's Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz arrived early, greeted by smoke cannons. After 'quiet please' appeared, play began. The party continued with songs for Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit.
