Jamie Carragher believes Erling Haaland will be the "best goalscorer of all time" after his double helped Manchester City beat FC Porto 2-0 in the Champions League. Haaland's brace made him Man City's third-highest goalscorer of all time with 167 goals in 203 appearances, leaving him 93 goals behind record-holder Sergio Aguero. The 26-year-old has scored 364 goals for top-flight clubs and country in 424 career games.

Haaland has netted 42 goals in 39 Champions League group stage appearances, the most of any player since 2019-20, and needs one goal to equal Aguero's record of 36 Champions League goals for Man City. Porto boss Francesco Farioli described Haaland as a "monster". Carragher told CBS Sports: "I just can't see Haaland not scoring 1,000 goals or being the best goalscorer of all time." Paul Merson also backed the strike but cautioned that staying at the top for another six or seven years would be difficult.

Haaland has scored five goals in five appearances under new boss Enzo Maresca and will now face Manchester United in the Premier League.
